Reed Exhibitions, in collaboration with Major Events International (MEI), is launching the Major Events Safety & Security Summit

An exclusive “non-conference” business forum offering a unique “community experience” to:

  • Connect with your peers and potential partners or customers
  • Share industry trends, innovations, best practice and lessons-learned
  • Interact through roundtables, workshops and “closed-door” sessions
  • Gain market profile by contributing to discussions and interacting with your target customers

The innovative interactive summit is organised to enable international experts to network and share experience with regional stakeholders (major events organization committees,  sport venues’ and entertainment facilities’ developers and operators, government safety and security forces, tourism and sport authorities, consultants, specialized solutions & services providers …), providing exclusive networking opportunities and empowering attendees to identify potential partners through tailored matchmaking. Major themes of the summit:

  • Full lifecycle planning with implications for budgeting and procurement
  • Delivery of full spectrum capability and the need to integrate technologies into planning
  • The human dimension – what factors need to be considered to include training and legacy
  • Mission rehearsals and test events which brings all planning full circle

High profile events, attracting VIPs, sponsors, media and tourists result in crowded places from transportation hubs, venues, fan parks, shopping malls and entertainment centers. Given the international security situation, regional government entities are committed to deliver security by:

  • Increasing awareness of public and private event organisers
  • Working closely with international experts to develop a stronger legal framework
  • Encouraging private operators to invest in top-quality, field-proven technical solutions

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries have initiated a clear strategy to become the preeminent business & leisure destination, supporting a long-term growth vision of moving the economy beyond oil, by:

  • Hosting mega events such as Dubai Expo 2020 or FIFA World Cup 2022
  • Investing in large-scale iconic developments such as Saadiyat Island Cultural District or Dubai Theme Parks & Resorts
